01What is a handpay, exactly?
A handpay is a slot win big enough that the machine can't pay it out automatically. A casino attendant walks over with the cash. The exact threshold varies by jurisdiction. Either way, it's the peak moment of a slot session. The moment this app is named for.
02Is Handpay free?
The app is free to download and free to use for all the core tracking. Some advanced features (richer insights, extended history, and a few nice-to-haves) will be part of a low-cost optional subscription. We don't have operator deals, so subscriptions are the model.
03Do you share my data with casinos or loyalty programs?
No. Handpay has zero integrations with casino operators, loyalty programs, or third-party ad networks. The machine-anonymised data used to improve OCR, your financial numbers stay yours.
04Is this a casino or gambling app?
No. Handpay does not let you place bets, play games, or touch money. It's a tracker. You use it after a spin completes, to record what happened. There are no odds, no live feeds, and no links to operators.
05How accurate is the machine recognition?
Machine, denomination, and starting credit are detected on-device using Apple Vision and a custom classifier. When confidence is low, a server-side fallback runs a larger model. You always see the detection and confirm before it's saved. The app never logs something you didn't approve.
06iOS only? What about Android?
Launch is iOS-only, shipping soon. We're on iOS 26 to take advantage of Apple's on-device Foundation Models for OCR. Android is on the roadmap for v2.
07What about responsible gambling?
It's built into the product invariants, not bolted on. Daily budget caps, self-exclusion, and cool-off periods all gate the code path that starts a new session. You literally can't begin tracking if any of those checks fail. Self-exclusion reversal is server-only and time-locked.
08When does it launch?
Soon. We're heads-down on the final build and launching publicly rather than doing a loud pre-announcement. Drop your email in the footer for the one message we'll send on launch day.
